10 year old son (Aspergers) crying and said "I dont know what love is"?

This broke my heart last night. He was having a meltdown (These are VERY rare now) and during the course he said that at school his teacher said now the kids were getting older their mothers would be doing less and less for them and the needed to begin to start taking responsibility for themselves more. He told me his mate's mother woud start to hug him less. MY son cried and screamed and said YOU NEVER HUG ME I DONT KNOW THE MEANING OF LOVE I DONT KNOW WHAT LOVE MEANS!!!! For parents of children with Aspergers please help me, I want to talk to him this morning when he wakes (he went straight to sleep after all that last night). I havnt been able to hug in in years - he has resisted being touched. I feel so sad for him :(
