Whats your opinion on a 17 yr. old dating a 12 yr. old.?

Hello there, i have a question. Whats your opinion on a 17 year old dating a 12 year old? Well im not either of them, but I know both the lovers. The 12 year old is a male and the 17 year old is a female. Im not going to say their names due to both privacy and safety concerns. They have almost EVERYTHING in common, they are both emo. The male and the female have been friends before this relationship for a very, very long time, and they both fell for each other. They told me they had so much in common and they were a perfect fit and any discrimination towards their relationship would just be pushed aside.. I think its ok but what is your opinion. To me, i just go with the flow of things and if they are truly in love im cool with that, Love is an element that empowers everything else and age is just a silly number. What is your opinion?
