What is the name of this "renaissance" dance?

Today at the Renaissance Faire I saw a noble woman teaching spectators a dance. They held their hands up, almost touching, walked in a small circle, clapped, changed direction, clapped, pulled in, twirled... does this sound familiar to anyone?
