What's cold fusion for?

Cold fusion is not, in fact, cold. What is means is a type of fusion that is extremely low in comparison to what happens inside the Sun. Fusion produces energy, which could in theory lead to a clean, powerful source of energy for the planet instead of depending on declining amounts of fossil fuels. What cold fusion would do is make it possible to recreate this on Earth without incinerating everyone due to the incredible amount of energy needed for normal fusion.
